Miss Miyake
(TC Miyake [Zodiac Matador x Miss Cognac by Cognac] x Fire Essense [Pro-Fire x BRA Quintessence by Mikado++])
In March of 2007 when I lost Celeste, I thought the world would end.
I wanted a half sister, another filly by Matrifik.  However, they were few and far between, no one would part with them, and any that I could find were in Canada, as Celeste had been - but the process of bringing a horse over the border was a lot more complicated than it had been ten years prior - and it was no piece of cake then!  So I broadened my search - granddaughters of Zodiac Matador,
chestnut, four socks.
My way of dealing with grief was to look for a new horse.  Many people did not understand this, but it was what worked for me.
I was contacted by Kim Morris of Mirage Arabians Ltd. in Nebraska.  She had heard of my story from someone I had contacted in my search.  She told me that she had a mare that she hadn't been planning to sell, but after hearing my tale, she thought I might need this mare more than she did.
These were the first picture of Miya that Kim sent me - taken eight months before when she had her filly.

Working almost all the way across the country, Kim took pictures and video and answered my thousand questions - but my heart was long gone at that very first picture.
It was Easter when I knew this was my new horse.  It took only days to put everything together, and late April, Miya arrived in NC!
She was fat,
she was more than a little spoiled -

and she was perfect!
