Huntley Chatterbox
"Leah"
Leah came into my life rather by accident,
quite the way many great things happen.
By the time I realized that she was a pretty complicated study,
I'd gotten rather attached to her and well,
I resolved to make the best of it.
We tried quite a lot of different things together.
She made quite a nice Jumper, quick on her feet and light in the turns,
but she got too anxious.
She is bred to be a saddleseat horse
but she gets so tense that I tried dressage.
She found that to be too detailed and so we tried field hunting.
I've come to the conclusion that she has ADD
and nothing will hold her interest long enough for her to be really good at it -
except running around being beautiful.
That she does nicely all by herself!
But despite her evident challenges,
Leah remains bright and sweet and everyone loves her.
She's easy to handle and enjoys attention, and she'll let anyone handle her, and some can even ride her, carefully.
She's the Boss Mare and she does that very, very well,
making sure that her herd is always safe.
There are worse things to be good at!
