Sky's Painted Dream
In 2007, after a couple years of riding lessons,
Becky came to me and told me she'd lost her heart to a yearling filly in Texas.
I explained all that went into having a young horse,
the time she'd have to wait,
the money she'd have to spend,
the frustration at seeing ME ride her horse...
but all the joy that comes as a part of being part of your horses' formative years.
Both of us satisfied with the discussion,
things proceeded and Dream arrived at Serendipity
in June of 2007.
She spent the next two years growing up,
learning a few things, but mostly,
completely capturing the heart of her new owner.
Early in 2009 we began the prep work for starting under saddle.
Dream took to work like a pro and progress was swift.
In July she was backed for the first time;
a few weeks later Becky had her first ride.
We worked steadily for a year, one or two sessions a week with me,
one or two lessons a week for Becky,  who did all the homework I gave her
and worked very hard to do the best for her horse, who also worked hard to please her person.
I've had a lot of success stories in my career;
I think this one is my favorite.
We went to a schooling show where
Dream won her first blue ribbon!
And that inspired us to higher aspirations
and in April 2011 we went to an Arabian show.
